The Céide Fields in North Mayo will certainly give you a unique experience.

Beneath North Mayo’s boglands lies the Céide Fields, covered by a natural blanket bog with unique vegetation and wildlife. With field systems, dwelling areas and megalithic tombs, the Céide Fields is the world’s most extensive Stone Age monument. The world’s oldest stone-walled fields extend over thousands of acres and are almost 6,000 years old.

The Visitor Centre holds a Gold Medal for architecture. It is located by spectacular rock formations and has a viewing platform on a 110m-high cliff.

It is advisable to wear weatherproof clothing and footwear suitable for uneven terrain.
