One of Europe's Greatest Private Collections of Art and Antiquities

Located in the finest example of 18th Century Palladian Architecture in Limerick & overlooking the River Shannon, the Hunt Collection represents over 2,500 original works of Art & Antiquity of national & global importance, including works by Picasso, Renoir, and Yeats.

This wonderful, eclectic mix of artwork & objects were individually selected by the Hunt Family based on the quality of design, craftsmanship and artistic merit. Hear the stories of how John & Gertrude Hunt chose the individual pieces which range from the Stone Age right up to the Modern Day.

DINING / REFRESHMENTS: The riverside restaurant offers a wide choice of dishes, both for lunch and for snacks. The restaurant terrace overlooks the beautiful Shannon River and Curragower Falls. The ingredients are sourced locally, organic where possible and cooked in the Museum Café Kitchen.

SHOPPING: Gift Shop offers a range of high-quality gifts and includes jewellery, books, greeting cards, silk scarves and ties, gemstones, ceramics, prints, and historical reproductions.

PARKING: Car Parking next to Museum (car park with meter pay). Coach parking is available free off-site 200 meters from the Museum, outside St. Mary’s Cathedral and City Hall, Merchants Quay.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: Wheelchair accessible with lifts to all floors; wheelchairs and stools are available for use in the galleries. Accessible Toilet.

TOURS: You can explore the collection by yourself or take a guided ‘highlights’ tour when available – at no extra charge. Tours take approximately one hour and vary according to the guide.
