Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre
Managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Clara Bog Nature Reserve is one of the finest remaining examples of a raised bog in Ireland. Explore the boardwalks and learn about the protected species that have made this unique place their home. The Clara – Rahan Road dissects the bog resulting in an east-side and west-side. The timber boardwalk is on the west side and is a 1 km looped walk with information boards erected at four points. Car parking is available at the site. The nature reserve boardwalk trail is open and accessible all year round.
